California Resident Incarcerated in Georgia Struggles with Health Crisis Amidst Court date Uncertainty
Cordell, GA – Kristian J Stucky, a California resident, has been enduring a dreadful experience at the Crisp County Detention Center in Cordell, Georgia. Arrested on charges of marijuana trafficking on May 5, 2022, Kristian has not had a court date since his arrest, leaving him in limbo and struggling with serious health issues without proper treatment. One of the most concerning aspects of Kristian’s situation is his ongoing struggle with a continuous pulling-pain, which intensifies whenever he moves or tries to sleep on either side. Despite filing a complaint with the Department of Justice (DOJ) and actively seeking legal representation, he has yet to receive the necessary medical attention for his deteriorating condition. Before his arrest, Kristian had undergone hernia repair surgery six months prior. Unfortunately, while in custody, his hernia has ruptured and is worsening with each passing day.
The risk of this situation is grave, as the mesh used in the repair can potentially cut or eviscerate the bowel protruding through the stomach wall, leading to severe complications, including death. Kristian, a devoted single father of three, finds himself incarcerated in a Georgia jail for a year and a half now, without any indictment or a future court date. Initially, his bail was set at $100,000, but it was recently lowered to $58,000, with a total bail-out amount of $75,000. Despite the reduced bail, he still requires competent legal counsel to navigate his case effectively. In an effort to secure his release and bring him back to his home state, Kristian’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for his bond, legal fees, and transportation back to California.
However, they have been facing immense struggles in navigating the legal system and dealing with the associated financial burden. Kristian’s situation sheds light on the lack of medical attention in the Crisp County Detention Center. It raises concerns about the well-being of inmates and highlights the urgent need for reform within the facility. The community’s support is crucial in bringing Kristian home and creating awareness about the unfair treatment he has been enduring. Donations to the GoFundMe campaign will not only help secure his release but also contribute to shedding light on the larger issue of inadequate medical care within the facility. As concerned citizens, it is imperative that we rally together to ensure that every individual, regardless of their circumstances, receives fair treatment and access to proper medical attention. It is time for justice to prevail, and for Kristian to be reunited with his family, receiving the care he urgently needs.
